Join our internship program to contribute to the protection of dugongs, endangered sea turtles and other coastal species in Krabi Province, Thailand. Program overview

This internship is an incredible opportunity to contribute to the conservation of dugongs and endangered sea turtles through monitoring and research efforts. Situated in the breathtaking Krabi Province on Thailand’s southwestern coast, our research station offers stunning beaches and iconic limestone cliffs as your backdrop. Here you’ll get engage in a range of activities, including:

 

  • Mapping coastal areas using drones. 
  • Studying dugong feeding trails. 
  • Carrying out seagrass and coral surveys 
  • Working on mangrove restoration initiatives. 
  • Monitoring turtle and shark populations
  • Researching sustainable waste management. 
  • Community outreach about reducing plastic.

 

With a big-picture goal of conserving and protecting the Andaman coastal ecosystem, this internship emphasises the importance of community involvement, scientific investigation and sustainable practices. Interns play a vital role as part of a passionate team dedicated to safeguarding coastal habitats.

You don’t need a diving qualification to join this program. You’ll contribute towards coral restoration through activities like snorkelling surveys and data analysis. If you are into underwater adventures, we’ll help you get your scuba certification.

In your free time, explore Ao Nang’s vibrant nightlife, just a 15-minute drive away. Krabi’s gorgeous beaches, limestone cliffs and lush forests offer tons of activities such as rock climbing, kayaking and exploring different islands. Don’t miss out on hiking in national parks like Khao Phanom Bencha and Than Bok Khorani, where you can spot amazing wildlife!
