Known to some as the 8th continent, Madagascar is a biodiversity hotspot located near Africa’s southeastern coast. Lesser known, but no less fascinating, are the country’s many distinct cultures.

If you choose to volunteer or intern with us here, you’ll be based in the northwest of the country, on the island of Nosy Be. This tropical island destination is home to long stretches of white-sanded beaches and several endemic species found nowhere else in the world.

Madagascar volunteer programs

In Madagascar, we contribute towards two United Nations Sustainable Development Goals  Goal 4, Quality Education, and Goal 15, Life On Land.

Wildlife volunteering in Madagascar

Our base in Madagascar is located right next to Lokobe National Park, an old-growth rainforest featuring three species of endangered and critically endangered lemurs. As A volunteer or intern based here you’ll contribute towards lemur and other wildlife conservation efforts.

Teach English in Madagascar

In addition to contributing to local wildlife conservation efforts, our staff, volunteers and interns based near Lokobe National Park also offer English language literacy support to Lokobe park rangers, primary school educators and other adults in the area. Join these projects if you’re interested in teaching English in Madagascar.
