Program overview

Volunteers on this Seychelles conservation program will assist teams from the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority with gathering information that helps the organisation sustainably manage the island.

In collaboration with expert researchers, volunteers will learn why biodiversity surveys are important for the conservation efforts and be given guided mentorship on the scientific methods used to survey focus species on the island. In the process, you will get the chance to observe and preserve the island’s endemic and unique flora – such as extensive stretches of seagrass meadows, coral reefs and mangrove forests – as well as iconic species such as hawksbill turtles, green turtles, olive ridley turtles, dolphins, manta rays, and a variety of sharks and rays.
