The mayan wilderness challenge!

By 6 years ago
Categories Yucatan

Our first challenge is on and going! So far 9 participants between NSPs, volunteers, GVI and Amigos de Sian Ka’an staff have signed in to do it! We aim to have more people joining so if you like sports, challenges or just want to be part of a unique tour and have lots of fun come to Mexico and join us!!!

We set the target to 1000 USD or 650GBP per participant to raise. The funds will be used to buy recycling bins to continue with the recycling center in Punta Allen and to buy equipment for the mapping project for Amigos de Sian ka’an.

We have a facebook page event! http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=165462800197355 keep an eye on it as more news on how the training and fund raising is going will be published there!

This is an excellent excuse to travel to Mexico and join us in the challenge!

Just say “I want to do it”!

Set up a fundraising page-we will show you how. Then ask your friends and family to support you in your Mayan challenge. Start training and we will see you on the 26th October!

The fundraising target will cover the cost of participation (400USD) Includes: food, accommodation (camping), equipment, transportation, professional guides.
Alternatively people can pay for participation independently and direct all funds raised to the GVI CT

26 October: Kayaking from Pez Maya to Paso Lagartos
27 October: Kayaking from Paso Lagartos to Punta Allen
28 October: Cycling from Punta Allen to Tulum

The challenge begins at the Pez Maya base on the 26th. You will adventure Into the lagoon to start rowing to Paso Lagartos (20km). We will be camping that night at Paso Lagartos on the beach and then head towards Punta Allen (20 kms) where we will camp again under the stars. The last day we will cycle to Tulum (50 km) where a surprise will be waiting!

Special thanks to Joao for the creation of the poster.
