Taking a gap year after high school and acknowledging privilege

It’s important to remember that being able to volunteer or travel during a gap year is a privilege. Not everyone has the financial means, the access to resources, or the freedom to take a year off to pursue these opportunities. It’s important to recognise and acknowledge this privilege, and not take it for granted. In addition, it’s important to use this privilege to make a positive impact in the world, whether through volunteering, travelling responsibly, or supporting social causes.
