There are several international organisations that certify scuba divers, and the specific qualifications required for each certification may vary slightly.

Scuba diving qualifications: Types and training providers

However, in general, to qualify for an international scuba diving certification, you will need to complete a basic scuba diving course and pass a written and practical examination. This course will typically cover the basics of scuba diving, including dive theory, dive equipment, dive safety, and dive techniques. Once you have completed the course and passed the examination, you’ll be certified to dive independently to a certain depth, usually between 60 and 100 feet.
