New surfers in the water!

By Rob Reid 2 years ago
Categories Cape Town

This past week we began taking our new surfers to the beach to begin their year of weekly surfing lessons. Before we get in the water, a quick lesson on beach safety with our coach and volunteers, followed by a demonstration of how to catch waves once we’re in the water. Finally, it’s time to jump in! Some kids are a little more comfortable than others at the beginning, but before you know it all the children are out there catching waves and having a great time. By the end of our first lesson, every child has managed to catch at least a couple of waves, a great sign of things to come in the next year!
