Volunteer Options

Change your world with GVI – volunteer abroad on critical humanitarian and conservation projects.

More than 120 critical conservation and humanitarian projects in over 30 countries rely on GVI for volunteers, promotion and direct funding. GVI works locally with its partners to promote sustainable development through environment research, conservation and education.

We send more than 2500 people overseas every year to work alongside these projects and help them continue their good work. Our international team of over 150 field staff ensure your peace of mind, in-depth training, cultural orientation and 24 hour support throughout your stay. Trips can last for anything from 1 week to 1 year and vary from challenging marine conservation and wildlife research expeditions in Africa and Latin America to volunteer teaching and wildlife projects all over the world. So, join the world's most exciting and progressive volunteering organisation and experience the world through new eyes.

Travel Upgrades

Palm Tree

GVI actively encourages as many people as possible to volunteer so if all that is putting you off is the rouging it aspect you now have no excuse!

All GVI projects have been set up to provide the lowest costs possible for volunteers and as such accommodations are mostly of a basic standard, shared and with local host families. However certain projects offer the chance to upgrade your accommodations to provide you with private rooms, a hot shower, a larger menu choice and much more.

Family Volunteering

Volunteers with laughing child

Volunteering overseas as a family may not be everyone’s idea of taking a conventional holiday,

yet family volunteering offers one of the most rewarding experiences for everyone involved. Going on a family volunteer holiday is a great way for families to see unique destinations, experience new cultures and see parts of the world the children may never learn about at school.
