Come Meet Amy and Sara in Aberdeen - 27 January 2019
The Coffee House Aberdeen 1 Gaelic Lane Aberdeen AB10 1JF - 27 January 2019, 15:00-16:30
Amy: As a marine biology student, the work I did in Mexico completely re-affirmed why I want to do what I’m doing. It reminded me of what I’m passionate about and why I love the ocean so much. Getting to dive every day is a dream come true, all the while working towards making a difference! You can tell the work you’re doing makes a difference and it’s great to see how a company like GVI works and how they work together with different organisations. The staff and other volunteers truly made the experience, you all share the same passion and that was that icing on the cake!
Sara: In summer 2015 I spent a month working on a community project in the town of Quepos in Costa Rica. I was assisting in the renovation of the classroom GVI used to teach English in at a school in a nearby village as well as doing necessary jobs to improve the functionality, safety, and quality of the school. During my time here I also had the opportunity to improve my Spanish by spending time with a local family and exploring the beautiful surrounding area, including the Manuel Antonio national park. An incredible community-driven experience that I will never forget!
