Trekking to Everest Basecamp

The Adventure program with GVI Pokhara commenced with a 12 day trek to Everest Base Camp. As a group of three girls from three different continents, dissimilar backgrounds and contrasting reasons for signing up for the program, our thinking, worries and fears were somehow completely identical. Moreover, we had one important thing in common–we had just signed up for the biggest test of our physical and psychological strength to date.
The trek brought polar opposite weather conditions from point-to-point, exposed us to living conditions well below our norm and required us to completely and utterly step outside of our comfort zones. Although difficult and sometimes confronting, our thoughts and feelings combined were unanimous–we wouldn’t swap our time in the mountains for anything, nor change a single thing. The rewarding feeling of making it to the night’s accommodation hundreds of meters above the last, the picturesque views witnessed, the amazing people and characters we met along the way, friendships formed and knowledge about the region and ourselves gained will shape us for many years to come.
We conquered the mountains together and gained more than we ever thought possible.
