1. Dizzy Lizzies
A beach side cafe, restaurant and local music venue, looking out over Kokrobite Beach. Serving local and international food at affordable prices and a range of smoothies, cocktails and refreshments, this is a great place to chill and watch the tropical sunset.
Distance from base: 10 minute walk.
Cost of a visit: £5GBP or $7USD will buy you a meal and drink.

2. Kokrobite Gardens
A little tropical oasis in the centre of Kokrobite, Kokrobite Gardens provides beautiful exotic gardens, a restaurant serving wood-fired pizza, and an ornate swimming pool to cool down in. This is a quiet and relaxing location to soothe the soul, read, relax or ponder life.
Distance from base: 10 minute walk.
Cost of a visit: £10GBP or $15USD will buy you a meal, drinks and pool use.

3. Wakanda Beach Resort
An up-and-coming music and events venue that has hosted intimate concerts for some of Ghana’s most popular musical stars. Located right on a desolate stretch of golden sandy beach, this is the perfect location to tune-in to trendy parties, listen to the best of Afro-beats music, and party into the night.
Distance from base: 10 minutes by taxi.
Cost of a visit: £20GBP or $25USD will buy you entrance and drinks.

4. Bojo Beach
A large hotel & resort  located on an estuary with a canoe crossing across to the sand island beach. Visitors can relax on a private, clear golden beach, take refreshments, and enjoy the cool breeze. Great for afternoon relaxing or for simply seeking some peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of Kokrobite village.

5. Solo Monkey Sanctuary
A small sanctuary in a neighbouring village from base that offers a very personal experience to get up-close and personal with the monkies. Great for a 1-hour stop as part of a bigger day out.

Cost of a visit: You are simply expected to tip your guide a small amount.

6. Mr. Bright’s Surf School
Located in the social heart of Kokrobite beach, Mr. Bright offers individual and group surf lessons to beginners and intermediaries. A former professional surfer and well known character in Kokrobite, Mr. Bright will guide you through the small and manageable waves lapping at Kokrobite’s shoreline.
Distance from base: 10 minute walk.
Cost: £12GBP or $15USD will buy you a 1-hour lesson.

7. Luxury Beach
A new daytime and family venue on the white beaches of Bortianor village, where visitors can relax, ride pedalos, take a stroll up and down the beach on the back of a donkey, and generally unwind. A great place to shoot some top-rate travel snaps and so a popular location with Ghana’s trendy influencer set.
Distance from base: 5 minutes by taxi.
Cost of a visit: Costs vary depending on whether there are events happening at the time.

8. Big Millies Backyard

The world famous Big Millies is a backpacker style venue, offering accommodation, great food, live music, acrobatic and culture shows, and much more. Located right next to Kokrobite beach, this is one of the most popular social sites in the Kokrobite area. Host of the must-experience live music ‘Reggae Night’ (Saturdays), when it is obligatory to dance the night away, swinging your hips and nailing the reggae 2-step dance.
