Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced diver, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to explore the depths of the ocean in Fiji. In this guide, I’ll take you through the 7 best beaches to dive at in Fiji, with all the insider tips you need to make your dive trip unforgettable.

Beqa Lagoon

First on our list is the beautiful Beqa Lagoon. Located on the southern coast of Viti Levu, this spot is famous for its vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced diver, Beqa Lagoon has something for everyone. Trust me, you won’t want to miss the chance to swim with a variety of shark species, including bull sharks and reef sharks. And if you’re lucky, you may even get to see schools of colourful fish swimming amongst anemones and their resident clownfish.

Yasawa Islands

For the more adventurous divers out there, the Yasawa Islands are a must-visit. These volcanic islands located in the Western Division of Fiji are home to some of the best diving spots in the country. If you’re looking to see hammerhead sharks, manta rays, and other exotic species, this is the place for you. You’ll love the experience of swimming amongst schools of hammerhead sharks and manta rays gliding through the water. And with a wide variety of reef fish, including angelfish and butterflyfish, you’ll never be bored.

Bligh Water

Ready for a challenge? Then Bligh Water is the perfect spot for you. Located between the two main islands of Fiji, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, Bligh Water is known for its strong currents, making it suitable for advanced divers. But with its abundance of marine life, including dolphins, whales, and schools of colourful fish, it’s worth the challenge. You’ll be amazed by the sight of schools of barracuda and jackfish swimming in the currents, and the occasional turtle swimming by.

Great Astrolabe Reef

If you’re a fan of snorkelling and diving, the Great Astrolabe Reef is a must-visit. Located off the coast of Kadavu Island, this is the largest barrier reef in the Pacific, and it’s teeming with vibrant coral and tropical fish. You’ll love the experience of exploring the reef and seeing anemones and their resident clownfish, schools of colourful tropical fish, and giant clams with their bright blue and green mantles.

Beqa Island

If you’re an experienced diver, Beqa Island is a must-visit. Located off the coast of Viti Levu, Beqa Island is famous for its diverse coral formations, including reef walls and caves. You’ll love the opportunity to see schools of barracuda and other exotic species swimming amongst the coral. The reef walls covered in vibrant coral and sponges, and the caves and overhangs filled with exotic species of fish, are truly a sight to behold.

Taveuni Island

Last but certainly not least, Taveuni Island is a must-visit for all levels of divers. Located in the Northern Division of Fiji, Taveuni Island is known for its pristine coral reefs and diverse marine life.
