Last week we had the opportunity to attend the celebration of the anniversary of one of our local partners in Mexico, Flora, Fauna y Cultura de México. In a Casino style party, they celebrated 10 years of hard work towards the conservation of the natural and cultural resources in the region. Flora, Fauna y Cultura de Mexico have different programs, and some of their achievements are the production of more than 100,000 trees for their reforestation campaigns, the reforestation and rehabilitation of 56.76 hectares of mangroves, reforestation of 61 public school, the certification of the park “La Ceiba” (park in Playa del Carmen where they offer workshops) as a space for the environmental education by the local authorities.

In addition to this, they also celebrated the 30thAnniversary of the Marine Turtles Conservation Programme, which works protecting around 120km of beaches in the whole state of Quintana Roo. They have managed to protect a total of 87,574 nest and release more than 5,566,464 baby turtles!!!

It was a night full of emotions as all their staff were happy to share their achievements with the people that have been supporting them all this time. Congratulations one more time!
