Employee Volunteering
The GVI Corporate Alliance was formed in 2007 to offer specialised advice, design, management and support to corporations looking to develop and run ethical, tailor-made, high impact, employee volunteering programs. Programs range from short-term climate change initiatives to longer term wildlife research, teaching and humanitarian projects. Through growth and new partnerships, the GVI CA now also offers, in addition to employee volunteering, team-building and leadership courses, CSR project design and implementation, international events, philanthropic advice and carbon responsible projects.
GVI’s CA program is a win-win, enabling companies and their employees to connect with customer and supplier bases around the world in creative and meaningful ways. The programs provide a strategic advantage for companies operating in an increasingly competitive global environment. The customised opportunities build brands and enhance employee morale while positively affecting communities in need.

Sponsor Benefits
A research survey of 1000 adults, conducted by Gfk NOP in December 2007, found that one in six British workers feel unfulfilled at work. When asked what would help to fulfil them, 43% said they would like the opportunity to help people less fortunate than themselves, and 17% said that volunteering to help save the planet would increase their fulfilment.
Volunteering with GVI CA gives your organisation the chance of going beyond making a simple donation - you can offer your employees and consumers the chance to help people first-hand and to help save the planet directly.
A unique promotional opportunity also comes about by volunteering at such a high calibre. By making the experience available, not only to your employees, but also to your consumers, you are exponentially expanding word of mouth for your brand and organisation’s activities. We can help your organisation launch its own fundraising program to encourage teamwork within your employee and consumer engagement.
The positive PR initiatives and word of mouth from the participants who return home educated, excited, enthusiastic and energised about the work they accomplished can only benefit your company. When employees and consumers return home, they can share their experiences with co-workers, family and friends, therefore promoting your organisation’s ethical activities. GVI CA programs strengthen professional development, staff engagement and retention, performance incentives, team-building techniques, leadership abilities, consumer engagement and the brand itself.
Program focus can range from primary education to poverty reduction, climate change, community development, habitat conservation, sustainable development or wildlife research, all as a part of long-term locally-led initiatives. Some programs include high levels of volunteering, while others offer the opportunity for employees and consumers to visit and learn about specifics of the company and its community or environmental efforts overseas. Often clients wish to combine educational and volunteering programs with team-building and leadership activities to achieve the highest levels of quantifiable impact, which will be shown in periodic reports. By combining employee development with stakeholder engagement in developing countries, the resulting programs are sure to bolster any organisation's CSR achievements.
