Insurance Services through Campbell Irvine

It is essential that you have adequate travel insurance for the duration of your stay as many conventional travel polices do not provide adequate cover for volunteer projects and working overseas.

GVI has arranged travel insurance with AXA Insurance (UK) Plc* through our preferred insurance broker Campbell Irvine, who have been involved in arranging specialist travel insurance for over 30 years. The GVI policy is unique, as it has been specifically designed to cover every activity automatically included as part of the GVI expedition/project.

Please ensure you specify that you are traveling with GVI to ensure full coverage.

This single trip policy is available to anyone from within the UK and EU, with repatriation back to the home country, subject to the appropriate premium having been paid. The policy has extensive coverage with a 24-Hour Worldwide emergency Medical Service provided by Specialty Assistance, experts in providing friendly and professional emergency help.

Please note that if you chose not to take our recommended insurance then we require written confirmation that you have an alternative policy that provides cover, which is as extensive as our own.

NB:

  • If you do not reside in North America, but will be transiting through North America you will be allowed to spend up to 24hrs in North America for a trip of less than 2 months and up to 5 nights in North America for a trip of over 2 months without the need for a Worldwide policy.
  • Please be aware that the policy offered is a single trip policy and will be void if you return to your home country.
  • If you chose not to purchase Campbell Irvine insurance, please check the wording of your policy carefully as you may not be covered for manual or volunteer work, which may be involved with your program.
  • From time to time Global Vision International (GVI) may add, change or substitute activities on offer at its Expedition Bases and Projects. Campbell Irvine will cover all activities that are officially offered to participants as an included part of the expedition/project regardless of what may have been offered at time of insurance purchase or expedition booking. GVI will not be held responsible for additional activities that you are unable to participate in due to your chosen insurer not covering the activity/activities. This applies whether or not the activity was offered at the time of booking. Where GVI, its staff or contractors become aware that a person does not have sufficient insurance coverage for an activity, that person shall be precluded from the activity. GVI cannot be held responsible for knowing what activities are and are not covered by your insurance; this responsibility shall rest entirely with you, the client. GVI will not knowingly allow you to participate in any activity for which GVI knows you do not hold sufficient insurance coverage.
  • Please note that all insurance purchases are the sole responsibility of the traveller and should you have any queries you should contact Campbell Irvine directly.
