What's Included

Airport pick up and drop off, internal transportation between countries (Flights from Central America to South America and overland). 40 hours of one on one Spanish lessons. All food and accommodation with host families, several side trips in each country such as; hiking, biking and kayaking at Lake Atitlan in Guatemala; trek and tour in Honduras, visit a cloud forest in Ecuador; a three-day trek to see the majestic flight of the condors at Colca Canyon in Peru, plus more biking and trekking adventures in Peru culminating with a final week of travel and adventure taking in Paracas National Reserve, the Nazca Lines and trekking the Inca trail to the spectacular Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. Building an energy efficient stove. GVI’s Pre-departure support and discounted services, 24 hour emergency phone, 24 hour in country support.

What's Not Included

International flights, visa costs, medical and travel insurance, spending money.

Once GVI receives your application form, one of our experienced regional coordinators will give you a call to find out if you have any further questions, or simply want to find out more about volunteering. All GVI staff regularly visit the project sites, and have volunteered and travelled themselves, so have an in-depth knowledge and boundless enthusiasm that ensures your application process runs smoothly and efficiently.

Arrival And Departure Information

Volunteers should fly to La Aurora Airport in Guatemala City (GUA). Your return flight will be from Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima (LIM). More detailed information will be provided once your booking is confirmed.
