Harsha Gammanpila - Project Coordinator
Harsha is a native of Sri Lanka has a Masters in Wildlife Conservation and Forestry from the Sri Jayewardenapura University of Sri Lanka. He has over 5 years experience working as a field research officer for IUCN in Sri Lanka and has done research on native medicinal plants, sea turtles and conducted biodiversity surveys. He is in charge of the research work that is going on in Wasgamuwa.
Chinthaka Weerasinghe - Project Manager (Operations)
Chinthaka has worked in several trades in the past and most recently he was running a garment factory. Now he (and his wife sometimes) oversees the day to day needs of volunteers in Wasgamuwa and also manages the teaching program and other operational/logistic needs for SLWCS’s programs in the area.
Chandeep Corea - Operations Director
Chandeep’s background has been in field research with a degree in Marine Biology and Masters (writing thesis) in Forestry and Environmental Management. He oversees and helps to plan all of the research, community development and capacity building programs of SLWCS spread around the country. He is available if you have any problems which Harsha or Chinthaka can not solve for you.
