2009 GVI Photo Competition - VOTE NOW
2009 has now come to end and we have the 12 monthly winners for best GVI photos in the field! We have a great selection of conservation and community development images that really show the essence of a GVI project. It is hard to isolate a single highlight from such a fabulous trip but working so closely with the cheetah was an unforgettable experience, this is why I submitted this photograph for the competition.

Karen travelled to Thailand where she experienced the beautiful Krabi Province and the warm welcome from the local community. This included a TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) qualification, providing Karen with the opportunity to further her interest and career in Teaching.

Nancy journeyed to the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador where she was involved in numerous conservation projects, ranging from scientific projects (researching new species) to education projects (working with local schools). This ended the day back at camp where she was able to relax and take in the sites and sounds of the amazing wildlife around her.

"My trip to South Africa with GVI was a wonderful experience. It was a great opportunity to see a wide variety of wildlife and learn about conservation research. The thing that really made it a wonderful learning experience was the staff. They went to great lengths to make sure our days were full."

Guy travelled to South Africa where he was able to experience the fantastic large game that South Africa has to offer including elephants, leopards, rhinos, lions and cheetahs, but to name a few. This was accompanied by the vibrant culture that makes South Africa stand out above the rest, and its unquestionable beauty.

Russell's travels took him to the beautiful country of Costa Rica. Here he was involved in programmes aimed at protecting multiple ecosystems. These ranged from the forest and beaches, to the sea and canal, including work with local community.
