Volunteering in Turkey
All who volunteer abroad in Turkey discover a unique country with a very diverse culture which combines modernity and Western inspiration with traditional religious and historical values. As Asia's bridge into Europe, Turkey is a great mix of the Oriental and European. Churches coexist with mosques, Byzantine folk music and contemporary rock music echo down the streets, ancient Hittite sites can be explored after Roman remnants, and glorious palaces sit next to skyscrapers in cities where you can enjoy a ballet, opera or football match in the evening.
Encircled by the Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea, and Aegean Sea is a country whose landscape is as diverse as its culture. Small country towns are enveloped in olive groves, high central plateaus lead to narrow coastal plains, long mountain ranges teem with crystal lakes and rivers, and turquoise waters lap the shores of countless beaches. Boasting gorgeous cuisine, exquisite architecture and people whose friendliness is deservedly renowned, Turkey is a country that will meet any expectations you have volunteering overseas and exceed them.
