Volunteering in Uganda
Volunteering in Uganda will take you to the country Winston Churchill called the pearl of Africa due to its breathtaking natural beauty. From the spectacular Mount Elgon through the wide plains of eastern Uganda to the lushly forested shores of Lake Victoria; Uganda is filled with stunning panoramas and gorgeous flora and fauna, being the home to kaleidoscopes of butterflies and birds, crocodiles, lions, chimpanzees, and half the worlds remaining mountain gorillas. In Uganda, West African jungle meets East African savannah to create an awe-inspiringly beautiful country in which to find volunteer work.
With one of the fastest growing economies in Africa; Uganda is a country on the up and up, reflected in its vibrant and modern capital city, Kimpala. Cosmopolitan Uganda is the home to a variety of ethnic communities including a significant Indian population, and notably Mahatma Gandhi chose to have his ashes scattered in Jinja a city filled with Asian-style buildings which sits on the shores of Lake Victoria near the source of the White Nile River. Filled with natural gems and cultural vibrancy; Uganda has so much to offer anyone volunteering who has adventurous spirit.
