Volunteering in Swaziland

Despite being the smallest country in Africa, the Kingdom of Swaziland contains a remarkably wide range of landscapes, from the rainforest in the northwest to the rolling savannahs in the east, the mountains that stretch along the Mozambican border to the many great rivers that flow through the country. These picturesque landscapes are home to a number of beautiful national parks, which volunteers’ can explore to see the amazing variety of game they contain.

Yet the most striking thing about Swaziland is the tremendous people it is home to whom, despite battling problems of poverty, have a reputation for being some of the friendliest in Southern Africa. By volunteering in Swaziland, you will volunteer in a country that is known for its peacefulness and politeness, as well as traditional music and dances, including the famed Umhlanga (Reed Dance) – a traditional dance that roughly twenty to thirty thousand Swazi women perform to the public.
