Volunteering in Cameroon
Cameroon is often described as ‘Africa in miniature’ because the country contains many of the landscapes, cultures and religions of the entire continent. From the crystal waters of Lake Chad, which sits at Cameroon’s northern tip, down to the stretching Atlantic coastline of the country’s southwest corner; the landscape of Cameroon moves between rainforest, savannah, desert and mountains. This landscape is scattered with national parks where elephants, antelope and a variety of other beautiful wildlife roam, making Cameroon the perfect place for anyone interested in conservation and wildlife.
Between its borders, Cameroon also features French and English speaking portions, Muslim and Christian dominated religions, and a number of ethnic groups who often use music and dance in their ceremonies. Therefore if you are thinking about volunteering in Africa but are unsure where to go, Cameroon is an ideal destination for you as it contains so many different elements of Africa in one country!
