Interactive GIS Course in Costa Rica - PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PROGRAM IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

The course will be taught more as a 'GIS Camp' than as a traditional course. To ensure that participants learn the core and advanced competencies needed, we will provide complete manuals and have a mix of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises. Although we have a fixed list of topics, we will be able to adapt the schedule as needed to meet student’s interests.

A typical day will start at 8.30am with some lectures or demonstrations and exercises. In the afternoon we might end 'formal' instruction around 4.30 or 5.00pm, or we might break to collect some GPS data or work on a side project. In the evening we then focus on individual projects, with the instructor’s help or with students helping each other. Participants will find that this environment, with students and instructor living and working together, will encourage a higher level of learning than a normal classroom.
