What's Included

Round transfers from San Jose, all food and accommodation, training materials and expert supervision. We will provide evaluation copies of the software to use during the course and after you have completed it. Pre-departure support and discounted services, 24 hour emergency phone, 24 hour in-country support.

What's Not Included

International flights, personal kit, visas, and medical and travel insurance. Students will need to bring a PC laptop with Window’s 2000, XP or Vista with at least 500mb of ram (though we recommend not using Vista). Mac laptops running a Window’s emulator do not work well.

The Booking Process

Once GVI receives your application form, one of our experienced regional coordinators will give you a call to find out if you have any further questions, or simply want to find out more about volunteering. All GVI staff regularly visit the project sites, and have volunteered and travelled themselves, so have an in-depth knowledge and boundless enthusiasm that ensures your application process runs smoothly and efficiently.

Arrival And Departure Information

Most participants arrange international return flights to and from San José (SJO). All volunteers are picked up from and dropped off at Gaudy’s Hostel, provided they arrive within allocated dates / times. From here, you are transported to and from the course site. You must arrive by the published start date of the expedition, preferably the day before. Please note you should arrange flights at least 1 day either side of your course dates.
