Put on your hiking boots and prepare your binoculars
If you live in a forestless country you may not be well aware of this, should go without saying: forests are magnificent living tapestries. Being immersed in one is surreal. Walking through the coral ragged forest without stumbling becomes a daily challenge. You know how kids get all excited when they get to see someone dressed up as their favorite cartoon character? That’s what it’s like to spot your first troop of monkeys. Coming face to face with a spider web is pretty common, not getting entangled in one is a matter of focus and determination. If you haven’t figured out how to use a compass get ready to camp out in the forest…forever! once you correctly identify your first silvery-cheeked hornbill, Rocky’s soundtrack starts playing in your head. Forest is an orchestra. The rustling leaves, howling monkeys and weird sounding birds always manage to steal the spotlight. There’s no such thing as ‘a boring day’ in the forest. choosing the right spot to have lunch – be it just by the coast or deep in the forest – makes checking reviews on Trip advisor way insignificant.
