I only signed up to the GVI Nepal project around 6 weeks before I actually went out. I had never intended to do any travelling or volunteer work after I left school as I planned to go straight to University. However, things often do not go to plan and I decided to head out to Nepal with GVI. Having just completed my tour volunteering I can safely say that the whole experience was one of the best and most rewarding things that I have ever done. The whole experience was incredible. The city of Pokhara (where GVI is based in Nepal) is a beautiful city built round a lake and is teaming with lovely coffee houses, bars and restaurants. Life was not also just confined to project and the weekends were often filled with different outings. This include a three day trek in the Himalayas. Finally, all the staff on the trip were incredible. They made you feel extremely welcome and were there if any issues arose.
