A local's tip for sunset in Cape Town

By Alex O'Byrne 2 years ago
Categories Cape Town

Watching the sunset from Chapman’s Peak is a guaranteed perfect end to the day. That one moment as the Sun slips beneath the horizon and the clouds glow as if they’re ablaze, can only be described as breathtaking. Do yourselves a favour and take the drive (or the cycle for the more ambitious) up past Hout Bay and marvel at the view.

The 9km Chapman’s peak drive stretches from Hout Bay to Noerdhook and consists of 114 curves each with a view more breathtaking than the last. With precipitous drops to the sea below and soaring mountains rising above you, the twists and curves in the road seem endless and it is a photographers dream.

Do yourselves a favour and take the drive (or the cycle for the more ambitious) up past Hout Bay and marvel at the view. Day or night, it’s a delight!
