Peace One Day is a day for individuals everywhere to become involved in the peace process, as well as a day that provides a window of opportunity for aid agencies to carry out life-saving work. Its objective is to institutionalise Peace Day 21st September.

Throughout the years, millions of people have been active on Peace Day in every country of the world, and hundreds of organisations have carried out life-saving activities in areas of conflict. Peace One Day’s Campaigns and activities in Education, Music, Film, Sport, Dance, Art and Online have proved that the day works.

We will let Jude Law to explain a little more about this movement, just click here!

GVI has been invited this year to join the event so we will be doing different activities in the different programs we have. In Pez Maya, marine expedition: volunteers, staff and children from Punta Allen will draw a picture of something thye think would bring world peace, then they will make a collage with them to make a larger picture. They will also sing a song related to peace!

Playa del Carmen community volunteers and staff will work with the kids from the toy library (ludoteca), they will make pinwheels and paint them with the flags of the World. They will also make posters promoting peace and then they will do a walk around the park nearby the ludoteca to promote peace and tolerance with the community.

If you can spare a few minutes we recommend you to watch his video which will show you what peace one day is about and how it was created.

Many activities will be done around the globe including a concert in The Hague, NL, which you can watch live  by pressing the link below!!
