Volunteer on Childcare projects in Honduras
Participating with GVI not only allows you to work on programs assisting disadvantaged communities or endangered ecosystems but it also offers wonderful opportunities to travel in the local area in your down time or further afield either before or after your program. Below is some information on trips and travel options in Honduras.
Optional Included Side Trips
For a small additional fee (see dates and costs for prices) enjoy a day trip to the Copan Ruins with a guide, separate horse-riding and hiking treks in the surrounding hills, and a visit to local hot springs.
Further Travelling Opportunities
Whilst visiting Honduras, if your time and funds allow, then there are a whole range of opportunities for discovering more about Honduras. Possibilities include heading to the famous Bay Islands of Roatan and Utila for some of the most spectacular and best value diving in the world. The beautiful colonial town of Gracias is a great place to visit or perhaps some bird watching in the Lago de Yojoa. Easy trips can also be made from Honduras into Guatemala, Belize or Nicaragua, providing ample opportunity for exploration.
