Community Renovation and Building Project in Krabi, Thailand

Life on the this project is a great mix of community interaction, real hands on volunteering work and fun adventure and cultural side trips. After a day’s orientation, welcome meal and time to recover from your flight your project manager will outline the tasks for the next 1-2 weeks. These will be largely dependent on the priorities laid out by community members but also by the skills volunteers bring to the project. Wherever possible we try to use your relevant skills and or interests on the different projects available.

After a hearty local breakfast we travel to the project site where small teams will be put together to focus on the days tasks. Working alongside skilled local craftsmen and GVI project managers you will be very quickly seeing the results of your labour. With a break for lunch and rest out of the midday sun you may also have the opportunity to interact with local community members and see GVI’s other community and conservation programs in action. Working until the early afternoon it is back to your accommodation for a well deserved rest. In the evening you will share a meal with your fellow volunteers and have some time to relax.
