Country Fact File : India
Volunteer Work with Tribal Communities in India

India FlagIndia is the 6th biggest country in the world and hosts a population of one billion people who collectively speak over 1500 languages. India is a land of marked contrasts and this is without doubt one of its greatest appeals. The fertile plains of the south stand out against the huge peaks of the Himalayas in the North, whilst the desert conditions of Rajasthan distinguish themselves from the country’s eagerly awaited monsoon rains. Maharaja’s and palaces are ubiquitous throughout the major cities which are now synonymous with street children and slums. The diversity of the country will provide you with so many travel opportunities and it is difficult to know where to start; bazaars, golden beaches, religious festivals, the Taj Mahal, tigers and tea. One thing is for sure, India has something for everyone.
