Nestling high in the Andes, a few hours from Ecuador's capital city, Otavalo is a market town famous for its handicraft market and indigenous Andean community, and is a popular destination for visitors to the country. The town has many amenities including Spanish schools, internet access, bars and restaurants with work taking place in communities situated as high as 3500m in the mountains, about a 1-hour minivan or a short bus ride and a half hour hike.
