During December 2007, I spent the most amazing four weeks of my life at the Vervet Monkey Foundation in Tzaneen, South Africa. This experience has forever changed my life and its direction.Josie, Dave and Arthur (who run the foundation), are very knowledgeable, eager to assist, accommodating, and warm-hearted people. They assure that every volunteer is able to make the most of his or her stay. I thank them all most sincerely.While at the VMF, I had the privilege of working with both baby and junior Vervet’s. Spending time to earn the trust and affection of these remarkable animals is worth every effort. The love they return is indescribable.For anyone interested in a hands-on volunteer program, the Vervet Monkey Foundation is the place to go. I excitedly anticipate a return trip.
