I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the last five weeks. They have been quite hectic at times with a combination of daily chores and lesson planning. However, the experience has also been very rewarding. The staff are very helpful and supportive, especially the trainers with vast amounts of patience, encouragement and support throughout the TEFL course.
TEFL is an intensive course. You receive daily input and this gives you plenty of food for thought. It also develops your skills within the classroom. The students are fantastic. They will support and help you along your learning curve with good dose of hard work, fun and humour. One of the most surprising things is actually getting a round of applause at the end- I like to think this is because they’ve enjoyed it rather than relief that lesson has come to an end!
The “HQ” of GVI Thailand is also extremely well organized and run. Everyone has to play their part for example cooking, cleaning etc. This ensures that things run smoothly. You also get the opportunity to know the Thai culture through Thai lessons run by Jill and Jack and trips around the area including places like Khao Lak.
It has been busy at times but I will be taking great memories with me of the people, the teaching and the surrounding area.
