I had a fabulous time in India! Particularly, at the school. Before i left i was worried that i couldn't possibly make a meaningful contribution by volunteering for 2 weeks. However, in speaking with the founders of Channel Youth i realised that although small, my contribution can be seen as a link in a chain of volunteers that is making a difference to the lives of the school kids!! So i was really pleased! I also found that the program was really well structured in terms of balancing work and play! The orientation, home stay and of course the desert trip were all really great experiences. By far the best thing about the trip was the great people i met! The Channel Youth staff were all wonderful, friendly and supportive. They went out of their way to make the experience great and even threw a little surprise Christmas party and found champagne on New Years Eve for us!! The other volunteers were also great people! Thanks for giving me this opportunity. Please feel free to refer any potential Udaipur volunteer's questions to me (especially if they are hesitant and indecisive, like i was!)
