The GVI Ambassador Program

Been on a GVI program and want to stay involved?  Looking to decrease your trip cost?  Want to become part of the GVI Family before you travel?  You’ve come to the right place.

GVI Ambassadors play a critical role in helping people make the connection to international conservation and community development efforts.  Future volunteers look to our Ambassadors for what it's like traveling with GVI; to determine if they really CAN make a difference in the world.  Most of all, it’s very important for future volunteers to put a face to the organization, and because our organization is on the smaller side, our staff can’t visit with each future volunteer in person.  That is where our Ambassadors come in!

How it works for non-alumni: We all at GVI can appreciate the financial commitment to volunteering abroad, which is one of our main sources of motivation to expanding the GVI Ambassador Program to folks who are new to the organization.These people have never volunteered with us on a program, but are just as passionate about what we do and want to get on a program!  If you qualify for this category, you will be charged with making your way through FIVE STAGES to official Ambassador-ship.  Theses stages include educating your community about our work, showing your commitment to the organization and recruiting future volunteers!

How it works for alumni: Alumni start by reviewing their program(s) and working with our team to set up a simple profile which can be featured on the GVI website for viewers’ reference.  After that, Ambassadors can get involved with local or online projects as they are able, and in return are provided with GVI travel credit.  Returning volunteers can be part of the Ambassador Program for years, months, or even just a day if they prefer!  It’s designed to be easy, fun and rewarding.

Over 95% of our alumni express that they would participate on another GVI program and have described their experiences as: “Eye-opening”, “Awe-inspiring”, “Mind-blowing”, and for most, “Addictive”.  That’s why we created the Ambassador Program.  Our goal is to keep our volunteers part of the GVI Family in a way that is beneficial to them and to others who are intrigued by our work.  Once you have completed a program with us, you are part of the GVI Family for life.  So if you’re just about to embark on your sixth GVI trip, or finding our website for the first time, contact the Outreach Team at outreach@gviworld.com to deepen the impact you’ll have on the global community.
