On many GVI programs the issues we aim to alleviate are heightened by climate change. Carbon emissions from our everyday activities including flights are largely responsible for this, so by donating towards carbon offsetting projects through The GVI Charitable Trust you can reduce your impact on climate change and help communities struggling to deal with its impact.
Donations to our carbon offsetting projects support sustainable initiatives which not only positively tackle issues relating to climate change but provide underprivileged communities with sustainable development opportunities.
How GVI offsets carbon…
GVI programs often work to rectify damage done to the environment by humans. By encouraging everyone to engage with climate change, GVI works towards the sustainable development of the environment and the future of our planet.
Across Latin America and Africa GVI is working with communities to replace and sustainably manage forests in areas where there is a high demand for wood as fuel, and in Kenya we have trained community members in alternative methods of charcoal production which are sustainable, generate income and protect the forest.
On all of our programs around the world we aim to keep our impact to a minimum and many of our activities directly affect the environment.
